I was looking for some wall Art for my daughter's nursery. Art Shops or anyone else sellng art are expensive, especially if you want some cooler looking stuff. Also I didn't want it to be too babyish as I Don't fancy changing it all the time. So... I came up with this Idea:

Diy WallArt

I don't know about you guys, but if the shop puts my purchases in the nice bag I tend to keep it, even though it rarely gets used, but lucky me! This time it did pay off! This particular bag is from Anthropology where I just got a small bowl on Sale... and the bag has since been in my cubpoard for alomst 2 years.

Here I was a victim of Winter Sales again, got tights for my daughter... And then I was in the car heading back home, looking at the bag and thinking: "thats a nice picture of the birds, what if I cut them out and put them on a blank paper?".. So some consideration later, and after tiding the room I found the other shopping bag hidden for almost 2 years! And I had an Eureka moment!!! :)

So I did :

  • Cut out the birds

  • Used the first bag as the background and placed the birds on it strategically

  • Bought Ikea frame for £2.

Total Project cost - £2

I have to say I am really pleased and suprised by the result :) This could actually go in any room in the house and look quite good! At the moment its in my daughter's room for her to look at while she has her nappy changed! Perfect time to admire some art, I say.... :)

Have a look in your stock of the bags, not just shopping, but gift bags, gift wrap papers and so on or even some other art lying in your storage, you'll for sure find some interesting designs, slogans or thoughts. Open your imagination and you will definitely find yourself creating artsy stuff which may go very well in any room or bedroom with the fraction of the cost out there on high streets or Art shops. Also the frame used here is from Ikea for just £2, and even Poundland does have nice frames so choice is yours! Get creative! :)

If I can do it, you can too!!!

Love, Agne xx
